Love Stuck Pillows

Welcome to this stop on Hugs and Kisses Blog hop and Happy Valentine's Day!

Love stuck pillows

My living room make over was in need of some new pillows.  I haven't made many pillows or pillow covers, but decided to give it a swing.  The space inside the heart is screaming at me to embroider something inside like Love or even His and Hers, which was just too sappy for me.

Love stuck pillows

In the pattern, there are THREE different blocks to create, the hug, the kiss, and the heart and arrow.  By far, the most complicated of the blocks is the heart and arrow with the most segments and thin, tiny pieces.   Still, the heart and arrow block was easy and straight forward to make.  I always do multiple of the same paper pieced blocks at a time.

Just in case the Love Struck Pillows become to overwhelmingly sweet and I need a break.  I covered the backs in one of my favorite snarky fabrics.  To me, love isn't shown through words but through actions.

  12. Lady Jenny - I love the photos as well as the pillows. I had to look and look and then I realized one is a light blue and one is pink. You are clever. Then I realized in the first picture, they are sitting on opposite ends of the sofa - sort of like I remember in high school at first. (I think I can remember back that far). Then they are together. I love the backing. The red sofa is awesome. I desperately need some new living room furniture and right now can't think about it. It'll get there. Thanks for participating and being a great inspiration, You have great creativity and you'll figure out what to do, if anything, to finish the blocks.

  35. Jenny-Love you pillows, especially the backing! I checked out your blog and love your new canine addition. Try Fray Check by Dritz to seal those fabric edges-I swear by it-even to prevent jeans from further fraying at the knees. Perhaps embroider "hug me" inside your hearts on your pillows. Thanks for sharing
