A New Challenge and Faces 101 is almost over

My QuiltCon roomie, Patricia, and I decided to challenge ourselves with a month of art.  She posted her first post about it.  We're getting ourselves moving, almost art journaling.  Can you believe it?  Supposedly, all these art journal peeps talk about how good it is for creativity purposes.  I'm ready to test it.  You see, I've been in a rut, the kind of rut that leaches into your soul and keeps you paralyzed from being a free, creative spirit.  Self editing is crippling and that's how this rut started.

We are focusing on pastels for something quick, but other mediums will be explored.  I added watercolors on the first day, completely unintended.  Patricia and I are going to do this everyday for the month of March. At least we are going to try.  You are welcome to join us.  Pull out what you have and get started.

Oil pastels and watercolor

Cor was crying because she fell behind on her faces for the online class.  She was sick and didn't have the energy for it.  I tried to make her fell better.  Wasn't working.  Using a dip pen, I started writing and drawing.  She quieted down and just watched me. After I was done, we read it together.

I posted earlier this week about the Faces 101 online class my family has been taking.  I've done the work every day.    Here's Day 2 through 5.  My faces are getting better. I have a style.  Carla Sonheim is a wonderful teacher and I hope to do more of her classes in the future.
