One of the pesky leftovers is now a quilt top, backed and basted. Cor picked out a jelly roll of Lovely by Moda a while ago. We cut some small hexes for her to work on English paper piecing. She isn't committed to that yet.
I used the fabric to make a large pillow which she adores. All these left over already sewn strips were just sitting waiting for some purpose. The orange is the fabric she picked to pair with her jelly roll. It had 4 different values. In the border, the lightest and the darkest of the oranges.
Still hoping that Cor can hand quilt her first quilt. She is good at hand embroidery. Shouldn't be too big a leap. Worst case, I'll take it back over. She is only six years old. After some practice pieces, Cor is not ready. She needs to do more practice. I can still dream.

Lovely design and fabric.
ReplyDeleteCute idea! This will be something she remembers for a long time. I still LOVE doing crafts with my mom! (Although, it took me 15 more years to pick up quilting again with gusto...)
